Virtual Symmetry
Title: Exoverse
Label: Independent
Release Date: June 30th, 2020
Swiss / Italian Metallers Virtual Symmetry are due to release their second Album “Exoverse” on the 30th of June. This is a stunning work, featuring appearances from legendary Drummer Thomas Lang, Dream Theaters Jordan Rudess saxophonist Ruben Paganelli, and the symphonic orchestra Sinfonietta Consonus, Evergrey's Tom S. Englund, singer Jennifer Vargas and the gospel choir NuVoices Project.
From the opener, we are taken on an amazing excursion of keyboards, Drums that rattle your bones, and choral effects that send chills up and down your spine. As ”XI” twists your mind with its vibes this ten-minute track embeds itself in you, as Marco Pastorino Vocals draw you into the story untold, love the dramatic cinematic feel to this it's massive and insanely intense.
Like the calm, after a vicious storm “Odyssey” glides into the room it's simply uplifting and thought-provoking that builds into something quite extraordinary and captivating and merely is the starter as the main course of heavenly delights are yet to come as the majestic musicianship continues to have a hold on you. The perfect Progressive Metal synergy continues to have you in its vice-like grip as “Vortex” and the added Vocal might of Evergreys Tom S Englund on “Exodus” casts its spell on you. I don’t really know what to say about “Remember” it has just recently been released as a single and is a track I think you need to listen to and judge for your self its one of the most moving hard to listen to songs I have heard in many, a year and I mean that in a positive way, it’s just sublime, emotional and impassioned. The hard-rocking comes back with “Safe” a multi-faceted monster, and talking of monsters the final track is the title “Exoverse” running over 20 minutes this is probably the best twenty-plus minutes any lover of symphonic, technically amazing Metal is going to adore. I don’t want to spoil it but let's just say, be ready to be surprised and left in awe with your mouth wide open and bowing down to the majesty of Virtual Symmetry on this grandiose finish to a magnificent piece de resistance!
I simply can’t rave enough about Virtual Symmetry and this there first concept Album that takes you on a magical carpet ride of many twists and turns that exhilarate and draw you into the story and has one transfixed.
To say this platter is a moving experience is an understatement, this is an exceptional work of art that is up there with one of the best concept releases ever, in my humble opinion.
