Woah!! What’s this? I tell you what it is, this is an amazing kick-ass album from THE RATTLEBACKS’ Formed in 2021 and hailing from Brighton, England. Built around the towering rhythm section of Seth Markes (drums) and Jack ‘The Hell’ Hollamby (bass), as well as the guitar-slinging duo of Coxy (rhythm guitar) and Max Horn (lead guitar), and the impressive vocals of Josh Clarke.
From the opening salvo of “The Taste”, you find yourself instantly hooked, this starts proceedings in style and is one of favorite tracks on here.! With Josh Clarkes vocals delivering on every level and the riffs taking you on a rollercoaster ride of heavenly delights, this tune has ya dancing away and scaring the neighbors as you sing along, it’s hard to better this opening track, but the guys do a stellar job throughout this opus as “Dementia Lounge” blasts out of ya speakers, this chunky munky tune ticks all the boxes, hell yeah, delicious music spilling into the room, this is pure ear candy with bells on and has such shaking moves, that doesn't leave the listener confused more enthused than anything!
"Gods" works its magic onto you, another great example of top-quality musicianship, this is top-notch uplifting stuff, with a hint of Gun N Roses and screams mainstream radio as does the opener, of course, we know this won’t happen in these throw-away plastic crap days of one-hit wonders.
“How Calm The Silence” rocks up and socks it to you good as Coxy and Max Horn make their guitars sing as the rhythm section of Seth Markes
(drums) and Jack ‘The Hell’ Hollamby (bass) deliver on all fronts with Josh Clarkes immense pipes combined this is stellar stuff.
“Open Your Mind” and "Please Me" continue the good time feel as it should be: fun, toe-tapping, dancing on tables music with killer riffs and catchy choruses—you just can't go wrong. The deep down and dirty grungy feeling of "Swing" surprises the listeners as it dances into the vortex of gritty riffs and fist-pumping delirium. "Behind You" slows the mood down a bit; it has a gentler feel and lets you catch your breath after what's gone before.
"Waste" is another favorite of mine totally motivating and groovetastic, and a sure-fire winner on every level. This whole work of art squirrels its way fiendishly into your brain as we come to the penultimate track "Lady in Wait" and wickedly addictive "Lazy Brian" bringing this work to a close.
THE RATTLEBACKS will release "Sidewinder" on November 15th. This is an amazing kick-ass album full of hard-rocking, hair-raising, fists-in-the-air boogie-worrying good-time tuneage to wake the masses from their slumber and see them saluting the newest purveyors of no-nonsense tuneage. Grab a copy; you won't be disappointed!
