The Nude
Title: Stand and Be Recognized
Label: Epictronic Records
Release Date: August 8, 2025
Forged in the chaotic underbelly of modern rock, The Nude defy definition. Gritty, unfiltered, and unapologetically visceral, they blend blues-drenched fury, punk snarl, and alt-rock sincerity into a sound that’s as unpredictable as it is unforgettable.
Opening with "It gets Easier" This isn’t a track for the faint-hearted. It’s for the ones who’ve stared down the abyss and decided to scream back. "When Forever Comes Laughing” This track sneers. It’s love turned feral, commitment with claws. The guitars snarl, the drums stomp. Think Queens of the Stone Age on a bender with Lou Reed and Nick Cave.
“Medicating” A venomous ode to self-destruction. The groove is seductive, the lyrics a confession booth set ablaze. It’s funk dipped in acid, blues with a black eye. You don’t listen you overdose.“Devilicious”It struts, it spits, it seduces. A glam-punk grenade with a bluesy fuse. The Nude channel their inner Iggy Pop and light the fuse with swagger.
Luke Bergstedt shows his many talents on this release no more so than on the piece de resistance on this album for me and one I keep returning to is the moving and deeply touching" Damned".
The album’s sermon for the broken. It’s redemption with teeth, spellblinding amazing!
"If Misery?” The question mark isn’t just punctuation it’s a dare, as the song beats with your heart.
“Victim’s Plight” Seven minutes of pure reckoning. A slow-burning epic that spirals into chaos. The bassline stalks, the vocals plead, and the guitars scream. It’s not a song—it’s a reckoning.“Leather Boots” Swagger incarnate. A strut through the wreckage, boots polished with blood and bravado. It’s rock ‘n’ roll with a snarl, a wink, and a switchblade tucked in the laces.
Now I dont really review much these days.. but being intrigued by the band I delved into this Album fully and knew I needed to review this work of art, from the moment the needle hit the groove I was taken on a rollercoaster ride of The Doors meeting Lou Reed with a feel of theatre and punkish delicious metal vibes mixed up and delivered with such a sucker punch to the heart "Stand and Be Recognized" is a crucial release in these uncertain fucked up days!
