The Ferrymen
Title:“A New Evil”
Label: Frontiers Music s.r.l.
Release Date: October 11, 2019
It’s been two years since The Ferrymen released their self-titled debut Album and boy have they returned with a vengeance with “A New Evil” this super group with Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear, Magnus Karlssons Free Fall) combined with the spell blinding Vocals of Ronnie Romero (Rainbow, Core Leoni) and tub thumper Mike Terrana (Rage, Axel Rudi Pell and more) delivering the thunder and lightning.
This platter is what you expect and much much more, it’s jammed pack, full to the brim with Powerful Melodic Metal to Bang your head and sing yourself hoarse to!
The adrenaline pumps in your veins from the moment the needle hits the groove and “Don’t Stand in My Way” enters the room with the unmistakeable Vocals of Romero drawing you in as Karlssons delivers riff after riff of fiery intent as the Drums are beaten into an inch of their life by Terrana this is one awesome opener. “Bring me Home” is an anathematic gem as the lyrics and Metal momentum make this a powerhouse track where it’s hard to draw breathe, as the scintillating musician ship takes a hold. The title track “A New Evil” is next, a real euphonious Metal monster.
Jumping a few tracks to “Heartbeat” a beautiful song with so much emotion it will give even the hardest of hard rockers a lump in his throat; it’s one of the tracks of the Album and already been released its easy to see why!
“Our Own Heroes” brings things back to speed with its intense Drums, monstrous riffs and high flying Vocals it’s a killer tune.
The inspiring and uplifting “How Hard We Fall” is going straight on my gym mix seriously the lyrics are just phenomenal and gives you such inspiration to yeah keep fighting and rocking on no matter how hard life can be at times this symphonic tune in beds itself into your conscience and empowers one. Power melody and more Power! is the name of the game as “My Dearest Fear” continues to take you on a joyride of pure unadulturated Heavy Metal heaven.
Penultimate number “You Against The World” rubber stamps why Ronnie Romero was recently out on tour with Rainbow his recruitment for the role was rightly deserved as he does indeed at times remind you of the great Ronnie James Dio no more so than on this number.
Finally we come to “All We Got” a stirring piece to end a simply formidable release.
"A New Evil" is a must listen to at all costs Album, this is pure gold and up there as one of The Melodic Metal Albums of the year.
