                                                          Stone Sea Interview 1/11/25
Answer by: Elvis Suhadolnik Bonesso – Founder, Lead Singer and Guitarist
MM: Tell us about your band .. your influences and what took you down this genre of
music
I’ve always loved slow riffs and melody-driven vocals, but it gets even better when you mix that
with evolving harmonies, grooves, and a pinch of world music. There are so many ways to bring
color to sound — it’s simply my way of expressing emotions more vividly in the end.

MM:Are there any themes or messages you aim to convey through your music?
It’s all about facing the reality of your own feelings and transforming through them — the cycle of
pain, release, and growth. I see beauty in the darker sides of life because that’s often where
change begins. It’s about acceptance, impermanence, and finding meaning through chaos.

MM: What can fans expect from you in the near future—new music, tours,
collaborations?
We’re currently rolling out singles from our upcoming album Ad Astra, and planning shows
around Spain and southern Europe. There’s also a live studio session on the way. The goal is to
keep the releases consistent and bring the music to as many stages as possible.

MM: Are there any dream venues or festivals you’d love to play?
Honestly, I’d love to play unconventional places — in nature, old barns, beaches, or even
deserts. But if we’re talking festivals, Desertfest or Sonic Blast would be unreal. I love those
communities that appreciate heaviness and atmosphere equally.

MM: What’s been your most memorable live performance so far, and why?
I’ll never forget the time we won a competition called Crystal Skull Sessions in Dublin. It was the
first time I ever won €1,000 for a gig, which helped us record our EP Mankind Maze straight
away.

MM: How do you prepare for a show, both mentally and physically?
Physically, yoga is perfect — it stretches everything without making me tired. Mentally, forgetting
I’m even doing a gig is probably the best way to go (laughs). I just relax and act naturally.

MM:What emotions do you hope to evoke in fans when they watch your band live
A sense of release. I want them to drift, headbang, or even close their eyes and feel it —
whatever connects with them most.

MM: Do you have any favourite pre-show rituals?
During the day, hours before the gig, I like to run through the songs just to get them tight. Later
at the venue, a small beer helps break the tension — and reminds me and the lads to have fun
first and foremost!

MM: How do you handle criticism or comparisons to other bands in the scene?
I’ve never really heard many comparisons, which I guess is a good thing (laughs). As for
criticism, I try to filter it — to understand where it’s coming from and what it means. If it makes
sense, I’ll take it and use it to grow. I know I suck at being the frontman, for example, so that’s
one I can definitely accept.

MM: What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a band, and how did you
overcome it?
Probably rebuilding the band across countries — from Brazil to Ireland, and then Ireland to
Spain. Each move meant starting from scratch, finding new members, and rebuilding
connections. It’s tough to hit reset and go through the learning curve again and again, but it had
to be done. In a way, it’s kept the project evolving — it never stagnates.

MM: Where do you see the band in five years, and what’s the ultimate goal for your
music?
Hopefully touring across Europe and beyond, connecting with people who resonate with what
we do. The ultimate goal is to express myself, connect with people, and leave a stain behind.

MM: Last song you listened to?
“Rosemary” by Deftones. Beautiful.

MM:Tell us why we should check out your band
I like to think you wouldn’t regret it (laughs).
