Stilverlight
Title: Dead Souls
Label: Independent
Release Date:25th October 2024
ALL HAIL!!! Stilverlight is an exceptionally talented band from Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Formed back in 2009 and releasing their new album "Dead Souls" soon these guys bring the metal and more.
The album opens with an intro "Time" which builds the anticipation for what is to come as it leads into "All You Need is Fear" a devilishly buzzing with hell, damnation, and guitar riffs to make Lucifer smile, it's an excellent opening from these Russians and leaves you wanting more with its symphonic, beats and face-melting delirium.
"Why You Hate" pounds and rocks into your senses, intermittent deathly growls from Max Palanin Vocals combined with Alexey Razorenov riffs and Ilya Osipenko bass make this a true bloodied fist-pumping anathematic delight.
The first single"Vaccum" is what first drew my attention to these metallers, If you aren’t already hooked by this monster then you must be dead, Seriously, I just Love the way this works its magic, hellish! Okay, what I love about this release is the different influences on such tracks like "Happy End Tradgedy" It crosses into a bit of folkish metal at times, and I kind of had to look and check I was still listening to the same band first listen, seriously it has a Nordic feel. I guess these guys are by Finland haha!
Now "Burn Me" is a personal favorite of many on here, but the deep lyrical theme and vibe wash into your psyche, simply outstanding, the growls send shivers up and down your being. "First Page of The Final Chapter" takes hold of your senses, as we are led into a Progressive musical ecstasy as this track runs just short of eight minutes.
"World in Flames" is an apt title for what's going on at the moment in fucked up politically correct nightmare world, this is the second single, and easy to see why it has everything, power intelligence, and most importantly a pummelling face-melting delivery. Wow ... "Death is just a word" is the penultimate track and rips and shreds and smashes the hell outta ya speakers this is fierce and thrashingly delightful, if I ever get my ass back to the gym this is high up on my workout playlist, and should be the next single.
The penultimate track "By The Dawn" will have a crowd showing more horns than a Viking fleet, spiraling bedlam, heads banged intertwined with those guitars, killer work.
"Dead Souls" is a passionate, pure Metal feast that should appeal to all fans of Heavy music whatever the genre. I hope this band gets the recognition they deserve, I came across Stilverlight on YouTube and was instantly hooked to their sound and infectious grooves, crossing over between Power, and Traditional Metal with a little bit of thrash and growling entwined makes this a must-listen release!
