                                                                                 Sintage - Interview  27/09/2025

MM: Tell us about Sintage .. your influences and what took you down this genre of
music.
Julez: Randy and myself founded the band back in 2019 with the aim to play
hardrockin’ heavy metal in the veins of W.A.S.P. , The Rods, Accept and stuff like
that. After the first practices (with former drummer Andi) we quickly found our own
style, mixing named influences with NWOBHM stuff, Hard Rock and a bit of Punk.
But since the beginning there was this magic and some sort of bonding in the air and
we always kept our vision that way to play energetic music with focus on power and
passion.

MM: Favourite track on the album and why?
Julez: On my side that goes to ‘Cutting the Stars’, ‘cause it consists of the very first
riff ideas I wrote for this band. It turned out to be even better than I ever had in mind.
There are these soaring vocal and twin guitar harmonies, which give that song a
special feeling.
Marcus: Beyond the Thunderdome, because I can’t get the chorus out of my
goddamn head. It’s simple but effective.

MM: Will you be having a Release Party?
Julez: Yeah, the ‘Unbound Triumph’ record release will take place on October 31st at
the Chemiefabrik Dresden, together with the maniacs of Mechanic Tyrants, Avalon
and Menacer.

MM: Are there any themes or messages you aim to convey through your music?
Julez: Most of the time, we focus on the urge to escape from everyday life. Music,
and Heavy Metal in particular, conveys this feeling very well. Stand up for yourself,
face your problems and always try to make the best of challenging situations.
Songs from the streets, for the streets.

MM: What can fans expect from you in the near future—new music, tours,
collaborations?
Julez: Now we finally have a steady lineup, which has been established through
many gigs and the new record. It’s the first time we don’t have to prove something
and don’t have to rush to make new music. So that’s why we’re putting that in the
back and concentrating on promoting our album. The next step is to take it to another
level and go on tour. That’s what we’re working on!

MM: Are there any dream venues or festivals you’d love to play?
Marcus: I would like to play at nearly every metal festival in existence. The bigger
ones as well as the smaller ones.

MM: How do you prepare for a show, both mentally and physically?
Julez: Just a little warm up for me on the guitar. Sometimes we all jam along to get in
the right mood. And of course we let the magic of some beers work, haha.
Marcus: Warming up the hands for the bass and some sports for the whole body
with Randy. And some beer to cool down the ego.

MM: What emotions do you hope to evoke in fans when they watch your band live?
Julez: The same as for us, to break out of everyday life. The audience should get the
feeling that they could leave everything behind, forget about their problems and live
in the moment. And most importantly, they should have a fuckin’ good time!

MM: Do you have any favourite pre-show rituals?
Marcus: Just warming up. It is boring, but necessary and always delivers a good
show.

MM: How do you handle criticism or comparisons to other bands in the scene?
Julez: It’s always great to get some recognition and be compared to great bands,
that’s a good motivator to keep the train rollin’. But at the end of the day, that doesn't
mean much to us. As long as we can identify with ourselves and stand behind our
vision, no criticism can throw us off track.

MM: What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a band, and how did you
overcome it?
Julez: Overall, there never were some serious troubles regarding the band chemistry
or challenges we couldn’t handle. Individual problems of ours (death of loved ones,
personal challenges,...) did put additional strain on the band’s atmosphere. But we
were able to deal with these things and turn difficult topics into songs. This way we
could grow as individuals and also as a band.

MM: Last song you listened to?
Marcus: Celtic Frosts Eternal Summer - so, so underrated.
Julez: The Alan Parsons Project - Some Other Time. Stefan (Bassist of Firmament)
recommended their whole I Robot record, and there are so many good tunes on it.
Other than that I’ve listened to the first Vampire (SWE) quite a lot in the last time.

MM: Tell us why we should check Sintage.
Marcus: We can’t tell you the reason to listen to us. If you love heavy metal with a lot
of energy and balls out attitude, you should check us out. If you don’t like all these
things ... you should start by checking out Sintage haha.    SINTAGE Unbound Triumph | Metal Gods Meltdown
