Rocklust Interview 25/05/2026
MM:Tell us about your band, your influences and what took you down this genre of music
Rocklust was formed in May 2023 from an idea by our drummer Alessandro Damiani, who wanted
to create an original music project after years spent playing in hard rock tribute bands. Soon after,
Federico Cicconofri and Andrea Palmieri joined to work on the first compositions, while Francesco
Bravi later completed the lineup on vocals and harmonica.
From the very beginning, the chemistry inside the band was immediate. Each member brought
different musical backgrounds, helping shape a sound deeply rooted in classic hard rock but
enriched with bluesy and vintage elements. Our influences range from AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Black
Sabbath and Scorpions to Motörhead, Black Label Society and Airbourne. We’ve always loved the
raw energy and authenticity of classic hard rock, and that passion naturally brought us toward this
genre.
MM:Are there any themes or messages you aim to convey through your music?
Our music is inspired by everyday experiences, personal emotions and the desire to pursue
passions without compromise. Songs like Don’t Give It Up, Rocklust and Smoking Wheels explore
the contrast between routine life and the need to follow your own path with determination,
celebrating passion, freedom and perseverance. Tracks such as Child Spirit, Virtual Life and
Christmas Blues explore more introspective and socially aware themes. We want listeners to
reconnect with genuine emotions and the timeless spirit of hard rock.
MM:What can fans expect from you in the near future, new music, tours, collaborations?
Our debut album Smoking Wheels is now available worldwide through Volcano Records &
Promotion, and we are actively promoting it both online and live. Fans can expect more live shows,
including the Sanremo Rock 2026 live tour. We’re already working on new material for the next
album. We already have two new songs written and many more ideas ready to be developed.
MM:Are there any dream venues or festivals you’d love to play?
Of course, every band would love to play major European rock and metal festivals such as Wacken
Open Air, Rock am Ring, Hellfest or Download Festival, sharing the stage with our idols. Anyway,
every place could give you the right emotion and energy: the most important thing is to be in
connection with the audience.
MM:What’s been your most memorable live performance so far, and why?
The release period of Smoking Wheels has been very special for us because it represents the
result of months of hard work and passion. Every live performance connected to the album release
feels important because we can finally share these songs directly with the audience and feel their
reaction in real time.
MM:How do you prepare for a show, both mentally and physically?
We prepare by staying focused as a group and keeping the right energy before going on stage. For
us, a live show is not only about technical performance but also attitude, passion and connection
with the audience. We want every concert to feel intense and authentic.
MM:What emotions do you hope to evoke in fans when they watch your band live?
We want people to feel energy, freedom and pure rock’n’roll attitude. Our music is made to create
an emotional connection and remind listeners of the timeless power of hard rock. We hope fans
leave our shows feeling inspired, energized and emotionally involved.
MM:Do you have any favourite pre-show rituals?
We usually spend some time together before the show to focus, relax and build the right
atmosphere as a band. It’s important for us to feel united and fully connected before stepping on
stage. So no particular rituals except staying together drinking a beer.
MM:How do you handle criticism or comparisons to other bands in the scene?
Comparisons are natural in rock music, especially when your sound is connected to classic hard
rock traditions. We take inspiration from legendary bands, but we always try to express our own
identity and personality. The most important thing for us is staying honest with the music we truly
love to write and play.
MM:What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a band, and how did you overcome it?
One of the biggest challenge was creating an original project from scratch and transforming ideas
into a complete album. We overcame it through passion, teamwork and dedication, always staying
true to our vision without making compromises.
MM:Where do you see the band in five years, and what’s the ultimate goal for your music?
We hope to continue growing, release more albums and strengthen our presence in the
international hard rock scene. More than fame, our real goal is to create music that gives people
genuine emotions and lasts overtime. We’d love for someone, years from now, to still enjoy putting
our vinyl on the turntable and feeling connected to our songs.
MM:Last song you listened to?
We all listen to very different music every day, from classic hard rock and heavy metal to blues and
modern rock, so it’s hard to choose only one song. Anyway, just today we listened to Kickstarter,
the last album from Bullet, a band we love.
MM:Tell us why we should check out your band
Because Rocklust is all about authentic hard rock energy. We combine classic influences with a
modern attitude, powerful riffs, driving rhythms and emotional songwriting. Smoking Wheels is a
record made with passion and honesty for people who still believe in the spirit of real rock music.
Furthermore, Smoking Wheels contains some additional elements based on different influences.
MM:Final Words for your fans or readers
Thank you to everyone supporting us and keeping rock music alive. For us, music is first of all
passion and sharing emotions with people. We hope our songs can become part of your lives and
soundtrack your best moments. Keep supporting underground music and never stop chasing your
passion. Also grab your physical copy on vinyl or CD instead of listening music only online. Holding
music in your hands is very important and give the band a great support.
