This isn’t an album. It’s a possession. World Maker doesn’t ask for your attention it devours it.
Psychonaut haven’t composed songs; they’ve unearthed sonic relics from beneath the bones of forgotten gods. Every track is a curse etched in distortion, every breath a dirge. This is not music. This is invocation.
From the first tremor, you’re dragged into the pit. The guitars don’t riff they bleed. Vocals echo like sermons screamed from collapsing cathedrals. This is post-metal as ritual dismemberment. Think Gojira submerged in dream-rot. Neurosis whispering prayers to stars that died screaming.
"World Maker" opens with a tectonic hymn that births and breaks gods. Vocals chant like possessed monks. You’re not listening you’re crossing over. Then comes a flood of ancestral sorrow. Guitars shimmer like drowned constellations, then crash like memory’s collapse.
No mercy. No shore.
“You Are The Sky” is a lament sewn from spectral threads. Anthe haunts the clouds, her voice a wound stitched into the firmament. This track doesn’t sing, it mourns. Its mirror, “…Everything Else Is Just The Weather,” stares into you and asks, “What did the wreckage make of you?”
“And You Came With Searing Light” is the blade. The reckoning. Riffs like venom, vocals like prophecy. Divine fire that scars instead of warms. Psychonaut at their most confrontational. “Origins” is a hymn for the self’s funeral. Anthe returns like a ghost you buried alive. The track spirals inward, peeling back myth.
“All In Time” is the eye of the storm. A slow descent into haunted patience. Even silence coils with threat. Time here isn’t healing it’s a predator. “Stargazer” is the outlier. A cosmic scream that feels alien, dissonant, and dead. Not divine just distant. It dares. It fractures.
"All Was Quiet” is a cruel joke. The silence after collapse. Not peace just consequence. The kind of quiet that makes you question your own ruins. And finally, “Endless Erosion” the sacred decay. Riffs crumble like temples. Vocals whisper like wind through bone. No closure.
Just surrender. And it’s glorious.
Psychonaut have summoned the dead and made them sing. World Maker is cosmic grief rendered sacred a requiem for the world that was, and a curse for the one clawing its way through the void. It doesn’t end. It lingers. It watches.
“Distortion as divination. Grief as gospel. Welcome to the ritual.”
