                                                                                           Nuclear Winter  28/04/21

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences

I'm a solo artist who does everything in Nuclear Winter. My biggest influences are Dark Tranquillity, Lord of the Lost, Wintersun, Devin Townsend and Fleshgod Apocalypse.

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from

Inspiration can come from anywhere really - an intense movie scene, a place etc, and you imagine a sound to represent that. Ideas for me can even come from hearing an interesting audio effect or a strange synth sound from which I can start to build upon.

MM: What would you say is your Band's favourite song

I think Corridor of Shells would be my top choice. Otherwise Stygian Awakening is another favourite of mine. Both seemed to work out very closely to the idea I originally had in my head for them. Those will both be on my new album coming out in May.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2021

No nothing like that for me unfortunately. Being a one man band stuck in Zimbabwe being the biggest problem.

MM: What can we expect from you guys live

Having not performed any Nuclear Winter stuff live its tough to say what it might be if it happens. If I could I'd like to have some sort of theatrical element to the show.

MM: What do you like best and worst about touring

I've never done any touring.

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies

Fellow Zimbabwean metal band Dividing the Element along with Wintersun and Dark Tranquillity.

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why

The only metal shows I ever got to see was when I was in London in 2001. The best I saw then was Strapping Young Lad.. very good performance

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with

I always imagine my latest work being the biggest accomplishment. Getting my first album (Ghost) done was a mission though, but I learned a lot from it - so that ranks high as an accomplishment for me.

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time

Dark Tranquillity - Projector, and a very hard choice between Devin Townsend's - Ocean Machine and SYL - City. Right now I'd probably choose Ocean Machine.

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you?

The first time I played live was as a guest guitarist in a small club which was interesting but also a bit disastrous. The sound was dreaful and I couldn't hear what I was playing plus there were electrical issues causing loud pops and effects to go on and off. Luckily because of the bad sound overall, and the fact most people in the club were drunk they didn't really care.

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.

Motley Crue, Nirvana and Alice Cooper

MM: Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person

Van Halen.

MM : What's the most important thing to the band right now?

Just to carry on with making new music.

MM: If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?

I've just recently done a cover of Motley Crue's Wild Side. One I think would be fun to tackle is Ghost's - Dance Macabre. I like the 80s vibe in that.

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band

If anything, just to say you've listened to metal from one of the last countries you'd expect to hear metal from.

MM: Four words to describe your Band

Death Metal from Zimbabwe

Always big thanks for the support and please lookout for my new album Greystone coming out in May.
