With powerful, catchy, and poignant songs, it’s no wonder Never Obey Again are making massive waves in the music industry. Their sophomore album, “Trust,” is a killer work of art, full to the brim with titanic riffs, blistering rhythms, and mighty vocals courtesy of Carolina Bertelegni.
A gentle intro builds into the monstrous “Animal,” a blazing statement of intent that explodes into the room. The guitars, thunderous bass, and drums annihilate your senses as Carolina Bertelegni’s vocals take a grip. This is a killer tune that leaves the listener begging for more. This song sets the tone for the rest of the album, showcasing the band’s ability to blend melody with raw power.

The full-on alternative metal fusion continues with the frantic and unforgiving “G.O.D. (Given or Denied),” a brutal morsel with screams and venomous intent. Carolina Bertelegni’s other half, Alex Pedrotti’s, makes the guitars sing, while Alessandro Tuvo riffs bleed into Cristiano Trappoli’s bass and Marco Binda’s drums. This track leaves you transfixed and saluting these Milanese rockers!
The pounding “Never Feel Never Fear” is a big, brash rocker that’s angsty and deviously infectious. Then the superb and fun “Give Me A Fuckin Break” pummels you, staying in your head for days. As stated in a recent interview with the band, this track is “MEGA”! and could even be a ringtone! (Now there’s an idea!).

 

Much slower in tempo compared to their other tracks. Magical and when the guitars fully flow it will send goosebumps up and down your spine. Carolina’s delicious vocals elevate the song, taking listeners to the heavens.
The transition from “Lost” to “Control” sets a spaced-out vibe, creating a seamless flow into “I Wish.” This song’s deep lyrics and emotional delivery resonate profoundly, touching the soul. The angst and intensity in its performance strip the walls, making a powerful statement of intent. Next up is “Conquer & Divide.” This track chugs and transforms into an uncontrollable monster, ripping out your heart while you sing the chorus. It’s addictive!   
 

“Waterfall” cascades into the room, taking you on a helter-skelter ride of emotions. It’s another favorite, offering everything a fan of this music could wish for. Finally, we come to the end of this work of art. Like the previous track, “Trust” is a tribute to the intense and beguiling lyrics and musicianship these guys produce. This evocative piece moves you with its soul-stirring delivery.

This Band is destined to be massive, no doubt about it. It’s one of my favorites of this year's albums, a tsunami of Alternative Metal that demands a spot in your collection!
