                                           Naked Sun Interview 10/02/2026

7MM: Tell us about your band .. your influences and what took you down this genre of music

A: My name is Liam; I’m the drummer of Naked Sunday. We have been active for 8 years in this formation, 15
years in total. We have had many lineup changes but this line up of Myself, Laura, Martin & Alex is the
strongest we’ve ever been as a collective.
Most of our influences stem from our personal tastes and we combine them all into our music. These
influences include Black Sabbath, Queen, Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, Faith No More, Foo Fighters,
Smashing Pumpkins and many more of that ilk.

MM:Are there any themes or messages you aim to convey through your music?
A: Most of our songs primarily focus on being in this band, hope & unity and stamping out any unnecessary
hate lingering around this world. This is highlighted in our track ‘Unbreakable’, and it’s one of them when we
play that track everyone comes together… a little bit like Auld Lang Syne but a lot louder.

MM: What can fans expect from you in the near future—new music, tours, collaborations?
A: We’ve just recently put out our latest record ‘Library of Medication’ so we’re currently supporting that and
have got shows around the local area and beyond. So we’ll be at it for about a year to 18 months promoting
the latter and are in the process in writing the next recording. Plus, because its our 15 th year as Naked Sunday,
we’re going to commemorate that by playing our debut record top to bottom in a local venue to be announced
in due course.

MM: Are there any dream venues or festivals you’d love to play?
A: Wow, there’s so many haha… we all have our dream venues in mind. Personally for me, I would love to
play venues like Barrowlands in Glasgow, Wembley Arena, Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks and Milton
Keynes Bowl. And for any rock band having the chance to play Download, Glastonbury and many more
accommodating festivals is what we’re always eyeing up.

MM: What’s been your most memorable live performance so far, and why?
A: It’s a bit of an achievement and was a massive high to play KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton when
restrictions started to slowly lift and venues were opening up to limited capacity. It was so great because we
had everything a band dreams of like having a large dressing room with a rider and a shower, catering… the
whole treatment. But, I guess the downside of it was not playing to capacity crowd… still, extremely
memorable. And having the chance to play Teddy Rocks 2019 down in Dorset sharing the bill with The
Darkness, The Zutons, Toploader, Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons, Stone Broken, Wolf Jaw and King Nun
made very memorable as a couple of us were slightly overserved by free Red Stripe haha.

MM: How do you prepare for a show, both mentally and physically?
A: I do limber up before a show (i.e. stretches, warming up and light cardio), but mainly trying to stay calm and
maybe listen to music quietly to send me into gig tunnel vision. I mainly try to stay off alcohol and drink water
or tea before the show to stay on top of my game.

MM: What emotions do you hope to evoke in fans when they watch your band live
A: We try to evoke the main precipice for our song writing like one of the previous answers; love, hope & unity,
trying our utmost to make this crazy and turbulent world a better place.

MM: Do you have any favourite pre-show rituals?
A: We just chill in each other’s company, and our friends and followers. It’s like calm before the storm.

MM: How do you handle criticism or comparisons to other bands in the scene?
A: Criticism is cool, when constructive. We’re continually learning all the time. With such a diverse range of
influences in our music, it’s quite hard to be compared directly to specific acts.

MM: What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a band, and how did you overcome it?
A: Because we’re all so close and work together to support each other whenever there’s an issue. Challenges
soon become shades of the past and we move on from them.

MM: Where do you see the band in five years, and what’s the ultimate goal for your music?
A: To go on a continental tour and sign to a label most importantly. I can also see us playing some of the major
festivals like Download, Bloodstock etc. and the best venues going.

MM: Last song you listened to?
A: Can I say two? Haha… the comeback single from Marmozets ‘A Kiss from A Mother’ is an absolute banger,
welcome back guys!!! But on the other side of the musical spectrum ‘Angel’ by Massive Attack which was on
my gym playlist, keeps me in the zone.

MM:Tell us why we should check out your band
A: We’re a band that brings a ton of energy and good times, we don’t like to be pigeonholed into any genre so
we cater for everyone.

MM:Final Words for your fans our readers
A: Check out our latest record ‘Library of Medication’ available on all digital platforms and physical copies.

And we’re out on the road throughout this year… see you there!!! xxx
