Into The Unknown 21/11/24
MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences - I'd like to
say we are a symphonic rock band with some varied influences which I think can be
heard throughout our music starting from our debut album 'Out of the shadows' to our
latest release which is our own take of some covers in 'Other side of the wall part 2'.
My personal influences are classic and blues rock such as Aerosmith and Led
Zeppelin whilst Ruperts would be the more symphonic side and James comes in with
a good mixture with the likes of lordi and lady Gaga.
MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from - Depends what's happening in life,
some song ideas stemmed from creating odd chord progressions to practice new scales and
ended up loving it and turned it into a song, other times something is going on and you just need
to get something heavy out, like having a session with a boxing bag and you just feel better for
it. Then the guys get involved and the idea becomes something completely different!
MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ? This is a tough one, with each of us
having a unique place where we draw music from I think everyone will pick something different
but for me it has to be 'You did what you did' from our second album 'Breaking the silence' I love
the riffs, ideas and power behind the song.
MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2025 - we are currently working on our 3rd studio album
and would love to get a string of shows to go with the release so it's in the works definitely!
MM: What can we expect from (Into The Unknown) live - a head banging good time show that
will not disappoint!
MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring - the best has to be the people and the places
you go, no show is ever the same and the people you meet just really make it worthwhile.
Suppose the worst has to be the lugging of the gear and the organizing but it is all worth it!
MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies - I think everyone would have a
very difficult answering this but I think who we would work well with are the likes of Halestorm,
night wish and New years day.
MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why - has to
be Airborne, the raw energy and power that comes from their show is unreal. My ears were
ringing for days after that one!
MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far - I think releasing our debut
album, we never really knew what we were doing at the start we were just a few people enjoying
making music together so when we had amassed and albums worth of music and got some
good feedback when showing people to then put it on a CD and see it in places like HMV was
like a dream, I never thought I'd see my/our music in a shop where I'd go to buy all my favourite
artists growing up.
MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time - My favourites which I could have on
repeat is 'Highway to hell' (AC/DC) and 'World on fire' (Slash/Myles Kennedy)
MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people
watching you? Quite surreal... And I know most people might say that but we had really been a
studio band until the release of our debut album and suddenly our first show was as a trio to 2
thousand people, it was an amazing experience seeing everyone growing and getting into what
we were playing.
MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall - who didn't I have (to
my dad's disapproval of blue tack ruining the walls) but AC/DC, The doors, Guns and roses, Led
Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person - Ooo, I
think it's hard to say as really depends who you listen to now and trace their roots back but a
band that really set the way would be black Sabbath, Ozzy's vocals paired with Tony's riffs really
opened the doors to many of the bands we have today.
MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now? Practice, with a few line up
changes and knuckling down with recording, we haven't got together as much as we usually
would, and getting the album put together is what we are focusing on.
MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why? Think we've answered
that with our two cover albums 'Other side of the walls' and now part 2! I have to say my
favourite from the two would be 'William tell' I've always wanted to rock up a classical song and
it was a hell lot of fun to do!
MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band - I can't force anyone to do anything but
I think we are unique in our Influences and the music we produce as a result is interesting and
grabbing so you'd be missing out if you didn't give it a listen!
MM: Four words to describe (Into The Unknown) - Quirky, catchy, epic and marmite.
MM:Final Words for your fans and our readers - thank you for the interview and for all our listeners
and supporters, can't do what we do without you all and appreciate each and every one of you!
