                                                                                   Insonika  Interview  29/06/2025

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences
Insonika started as a three piece with current singer and guitarist Oscar, bassist Daniel as well
as our original drummer Mattias.
It started off as a jam project in 2017 that turned into a band and we wrote tons of music and
toured extensively. During Covid current rhythm guitarist Sebastian joined, but first on
keyboards, after a while we found that guitar and backing vocals/screams suited him better
and he switched. He still does keyboards on our recordings. And in 2024 we had to part ways
with Mattias and Simon joined the band on drums and now we’ve started our journey towards
making music that we love and playing shows that we want to do.
So the lineup is:
Oscar - guitar and vocals
Daniel - bass
Sebastian - synths, guitar and backing vocals
Simon - drums

Our biggest influences are probably Mastodon, Metallica and Ghost.

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from
We mostly draw our influences from life and the things that go on around us. It can be
everything from mental health to war and famine.

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?
Hmm, well that’s a tough one but I think out of our own catalogue it’s always the next one you
know? At the moment we’re working on our next single and it’s a freaking banger.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2025
Mostly odd gigs here and there, but we’re trying our hardest to book and play as many gigs as
possible.

MM: What can we expect from Insonika live
Massive riffs, driving bass lines, and dynamic drums form the backbone of their music,
enriched by strings and synths to create an atmosphere that is both intense and dreamlike.
Their lyrics blend personal reflections with sharp criticism of the world’s flaws, leaving a lasting
impression on listeners. Insonika delivers a live experience that captivates and moves the
audience – a journey of raw power and emotion you’ll want to relive again and again.

MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring
The best is meeting all you lovely people out there and experiencing new cultures and cities.
The worst is probably the lack of sleep, haha!

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies
Hmm… Our friends in Venegence and then probably Gojira and Mastodon.

MM: Whats the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why
For me (Oscar) it’s probably VOLA live in Gothenburg last year. I LOVE that band and
seeing them live was an almost religious experience.

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with
Our DIY tour we did back in 2019, four weeks away and about 12-13 gigs. Amazing.

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time
Mine are …And Justice For All by Metallica and Friend of A Phantom by VOLA.

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people
watching you?
Yes I do, with Insonika it was back in 2017 and it was horrible and amazing at the same time.

I was so nervous I almost threw up but we nailed it and have ever since.

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.
Metallica, Sabbath and Iron Maiden.

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person
I’ve been listening to Ozzy’s autobiography lately and I think I have to say him, such a legend.

MM - Whats the most important thing to the band right now?
Getting to know each other more and more, writing music and playing live. Just enjoying the
evolution of being a band.

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
We’ve done loads of covers, but I think it would be super cool to do The Wizard or War Pigs by
Sabbath.

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band
If you enjoy music that gives off emotion, is quite unique but still recognizable and if you love

riffs. That’s why you should listen to us.

MM: Four words to describe Insonika
Melodic, heavy, atmospheric and emotional

MM:Final Words for your fans and our readers
We love you all, thanks for reading this and listening to us. See you out there soon!

Stay fuzzy,

Insonika
