Havok are from Colorado and formed in 2004.  While there may be many thrash bands out there (some good, some completely awful and unoriginal) plying their trade, these guys have brought something different to the metal table this E.P. is pretty damn colossal.  Featuring two classic thrash covers Sepultura's 'Arise' and Slayers 'Raining Blood', along with two new tracks 'Point of No Return' and 'From the Cradle to the Grave'.

'Point of No Return' instantly pummels it’s way into your senses.  It is very, very addictive, in fact I played this track over and over again. The musicianship is intense and the drumming literally rampages around your body.  This track is a thrash anthem in the making.

'From the Cradle to the Grave', like the first track, instantly grabs you by the throat and will have many a pit erupting I should imagine.  This is epic and the ending of this song is pretty damn awesome, as the guitars and drums come to the fore until the track finally fades out.

Sepultura have recently asked Havok to tour with them and what a honour that must be, they obviously approve of Havok's version of 'Arise', which is probably one of my favourite Sep's tracks and these Denver rockers have truly done it justice.

To finish off the E.P., we are faced with 'Raining Blood' and again this cover is great and will have you thrashing out, as Havok take you into the recesses of Slayer's twisted mind.

Havok are currently in Europe on the “Forward into Battle Tour“, nothing happening in the UK unfortunately, but keep your eyes and ears open for future tours by these powerful thrashers and get hold of their recent album 'Time Is Up'.
