EXXASENS Interview 20/11/24
MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences
EXXASENS is an instrumental post-rock project from Barcelona that started as a solo venture in 2008.
Our music combines atmospheric soundscapes, progressive rhythms, and melodies inspired by space
exploration. Some of our biggest influences are bands like Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, and God Is An
Astronaut, as well as the cinematic works of composers like Hans Zimmer.
MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from
Much of our inspiration comes from the cosmos—space exploration, the mysteries of the universe, and
the emotions they evoke. We’re also influenced by human experiences, science fiction, and the
transformative power of music.
MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?
It’s hard to pick one, but Eleven Miles holds a special place for us because of the emotional connection it
creates with fans during live performances.
MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2025
In 2025, we’re focusing on playing festivals and intimate venues across Europe to promote our new
album Infinitum. We’re especially excited about potential appearances at post-rock events.
MM: What can we expect from EXXASENS live
Our live shows are immersive journeys. Expect powerful soundscapes, visuals that evoke space
exploration, and a raw energy that connects the audience to the music.
MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring
The best part is meeting fans and connecting with them through our music. The worst? Long hours on the
road and missing the comforts of home. But it’s always worth it when we step on stage.
MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies
God Is An Astronaut, Mono, and Caspian. Touring with any of them would be an unforgettable
experience.
MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own)
and why
Seeing Pink Floyd’s Pulse on video as a teenager was life-changing. It showed how music, visuals, and
emotions can create a transcendent experience.
MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with
Releasing Infinitum feels like our biggest accomplishment. It’s the culmination of years of growth,
experimentation, and dedication to our sound.
MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time
Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and Aenima by Tool. Both are masterpieces of atmosphere and
storytelling.
MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have
people watching you?
Yes, it was nerve-wracking but exhilarating. Seeing people connect with the music made all the nerves
fade away—it was the moment we knew this is what we were meant to do.
MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.
Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Nirvana, and Metallica. Their music shaped us in so many ways.
MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other
person
It’s impossible to ignore the impact of Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath. His riffs essentially gave birth to
heavy metal as we know it.
MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?
Sharing Infinitum with as many people as possible and connecting with fans through our live
performances.
MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd. It’s a song that perfectly encapsulates emotion, atmosphere,
and storytelling.
MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band
EXXASENS takes you on a journey—our music is more than just sound; it’s an experience. If you’re into
spacey, atmospheric, and emotional music, we’re the soundtrack for your next adventure.
MM: Four words to describe your band
Atmospheric. Cosmic. Emotional. Powerful.
MMl:Final Words for your fans and our readers
Thank you for supporting our journey and listening to our music. Keep dreaming, exploring, and reaching
for the stars. We hope to see you at a show soon!
