Dustybonez Interview 30/10/24
MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences
I have been on my own for about 5 years now, just running the roads and playing just about anywhere that will let me. I try to write and sing about everyday issues and the hope that is available in the midst of those issues.
My biggest influences are my dad to start...and musically, they range from Johnny Cash and Tom Petty to Needtobreathe and Skillet and Disciple and anything in between.
MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from
I usually start writing until a line comes out or idea and build around that...so they can range all over the place. Most of my ideas come from real life struggles.
MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?
Of mine? I would say "Breathe" because I wrote it directly following a near fatal heart attack. My new single "Back To Start" is up there as well.
MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2023
I plan to continue doing what I always do and play just about anywhere that will have me.
MM: What can we expect from (Band Name) live
I always try to leave it all on the stage and pour my heart and soul into every performance.
MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring
The best is meeting new people and hearing their stories and seeing God move in their lives. The worst...the hours on the road.
MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies
My bro Noah Ray Tatum is always my number one Tour buddy. I get along great with guys like Sweet Crystal as well as SEEK 1st among others.
MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why
Needtobreathe with Switchfoot was a pretty good one...no frills no pomp...just great music.
MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with
Being able to reach people and affect their life in a positive way and tell them God loves them.
MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time
Pink Floyd-The Wall and Needtobreathe-Rivers In the Wasteland are up there.
MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you?
Yes...I was shy and terrified lol
MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.
Mostly Metallica and Megadeth
MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person
Probably The Beatles. They changed the game right down to how recording is done.
MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?
Getting heard and helping people in the process.
MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
I love to do Chainbreaker by Zach Williams because there are so many people hurting and struggling with addiction, depression, anxiety, loneliness, hopelessness etc. And that song tells them there is hope!
MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band
The best reason is that I write and sing straight from the heart.
