                                                                                                          DGM
                                                                                            Momentum   Scarlet Records

Having recently seen DGM at the PPM Festival in Mons Belgium I can attest to their musical excellence and would recommend this album as its influences are many and varied, also it will appeal to lovers of progressive metal, as well as Power Metal aficionados.

This band have been in existence for twenty years and I must admit I have only really noticed them in the last couple of years.

'Momentum' opens with a high powered ferocity and features a guest appearance by Russell Allen of Adrenaline Mob; well this will have you hooked almost right away.

Next we get the superb 'Trust' this  is a really uplifting track, and you just have to marvel at  Mark Basiles vocal range,  the guitar mastery and excellent musicianship from the rest of the band, this is a crowd pleasing song which has heavy influences from the 80's, never a bad thing In my opinion, the keyboard and guitars are technically stretched and played to their optimum, quite simply this is a stunning song.

Up next you get 'Universe', this is fast, power metal ecstasy and just pretty damn frantic!  Fans of Dream Theatre will lap this up.  The same can be said for 'Pages', it shreds and maims your senses.

The mood relaxes with a soft piano opening as 'Repay' takes hold of you, it’s a slower song, with heartfelt lyrics and is quite simply lovely, when it opens up there is more bite to it, and as the song nears it’s end, it will send chills through your body, simply fantastic.

'Chaos' ups the tempo and is heavy as a hundred hammers hitting corrugated iron, with the talents of Jorn Viggo from Pagans Mind as he makes an appearance this, for me is the outstanding track on the whole album.  Talking of outstanding the guitar solo on 'Void' is simply scintillating, an exhilarating number.

Final song is 'Blame' and like the start of the album and indeed throughout 'Momentum', the musicianship is inspired and first-rate you are uplifted and amazed as to why this band is not bigger!

These Italians have kind of slipped under the radar I feel and that needs to be set right. The band have released several studio albums, they were simply adored  by the crowd in Belgium and left me open mouthed!

DGM have a huge following in main land Europe and should be much higher up in the world of hard and heavy, progressive metal music and playing festivals in the four corners of the world without delay!
