Deville
Title: Heavy Lies The Crown
Label: Sixteen Times Music
Release Date:30.09.2022
Sweden’s Metal goliaths Deville return with “Heavy Lies The Crown” a pure fest of heavenly delights awaits full of blistering guitar assaults, power-driven drums, and thumping bass lines making this a glorious stoner doom-infused album. Opening with “No Sun” this is a head-bangingly magnificent start that’s instantly likable and rocks your socks off. My favorite track is up next as well as a recently released video “Killing time” is a definite crowd pleaser with its chugging riffs it pounds along like lucifers steed, hot out of hells basement.
Hard and dirty grooving tones emanate from your speakers as “Hands tied” pummels your senseless. Hell yeah, it's so addictive with the previous track, I just keep replaying it, love the way this song takes you away on a sonic magical ride of different tones and feelings. The deep and doomy “Serpent Days” grinds and slices and tears into your brain, damn this is molten metal to the core. The next track is more sedate as “Embrace” wraps its arms around you and gives you a helluva sludgy hug! “Unlike you” has a hypnotic feel to it and would not have been out of place on an Alice In chains album, I feel.
The penultimate track” A Devil around your neck” is full to the brim of heavy neck-breaking bass lines as we come to the final track “Pray for more” a meandering morsel of divine tuneage hits you in the face, this is a rockers heaven!
To sum up, "Heavy Lies The Crown" is purebred doom infested, stoner. progressive, hard, metal, and frickin loud!
