Ace Frehley returns with an Album full of guest musicians and covers of some classic tunes. Ace had put the idea forward way back in 2014 that he would be compiling a cover Album , and here it is at last.

 

Personally I am not a fan of cover Albums or bands, but the way Ace's voice fits and the standard of musicianship on here , well it is to be applauded.

Ace has gotten together all the songs that have inspired and motivated him over the years, this  includes a surprise guest appearance from his former Kiss band mate Paul Stanley on the Free Cover “Fire and Water” this is his first appearance alongside Ace on a record since Kisses 1998 reunion Album “Psycho Circus” and without doubt it’s one of the strongest tracks on here alongside the version of Thin Lizzy’s “Emerald” featuring Slash , this is awesome , especially the guitar Solo where Slash and Frehley work their magic,  and totally rock your socks off !

 

“Street Fighting Man” by the Rolling Stones struts its stuff , sounding just as good as the real McCoy.

Same can be said for the Steppenwolf and Cream rehashes.

The cover of “Wild Thing” by the Troggs is pretty cool, it’s a lot different than the original, That’s the idea right!?! and it works really well with Lita Ford guesting on vocals it’s a real boogying on down tune and works who ever sings it in my view!

 

The cover of three Kiss songs will be a treat for Kiss and Ace Frehley fans alike especially the amazing cover of “Rock N Roll Hell” from my personal favorite Kiss Album “Creatures of The Night” on which the Space Ace had his profile picture on the Album cover ,but didn’t actually play on the release, he puts his own spin on this number and riffs the hell outta of the song. “Parasite” and “Cold Gin” both work and kick serious backside.

 

Ace has ,and always will be remembered for his time in Kiss ,and off course his other Solo Albums “Anomaly” and “Space Invader” I really enjoyed this Album but I think I would personally rather listen to his own solo work like the aforementioned Albums , this  guy has a mega talent in his voice and guitar man ship which  here abounds, but I just prefer original material personally.
