                                                                          Krapf Interview  16/01/2025

MM: Tell us about your band .. your influences and what took you down this genre of music
Krapf is a progressive rock/metal band based in Baltimore, Maryland. The project is
headed by multi-instrumentalist & singer/songwriter Isaac Krapf.
Influences include Devin Towsend, Rainbow, and The Gaslight Anthem
Rock and metal have always resonated with me but don’t define the music. Influences from
other genres are present throughout the repertoire.

MM: Are there any themes or messages you aim to convey through your music?
Loved ones passing on has been a recurring theme in the music.

MM: What can fans expect from you in the near future—new music, tours, collaborations?
We are set to release a self titled record in 2026. In conjunction, we will announce some
new show dates as well.

MM: Are there any dream venues or festivals you’d love to play?
The Royal Albert Hall in London, England would be a dream.

MM: What’s been your most memorable live performance so far, and why?
In January of 2025 we opened for Paul Reed Smith, founder of PRS Guitars. During our set
we could see him watching us from the rear of the stage. After the show he took a moment
to let us know we had some solid guitar playing going on. It was meaningful because he
didn’t have to say anything but took the time to do so.

MM: How do you prepare for a show, both mentally and physically?
Nutrition and exercise keep the physical & mental aspects of the body in check. From a
music standpoint, practicing technique and the songs until they are 2nd nature is key.

MM: What emotions do you hope to evoke in fans when they watch your band live
To awaken something in themselves that inspires them in life.

MM: Do you have any favourite pre-show rituals?
Running / working out prior to the show.

MM: How do you handle criticism or comparisons to other bands in the scene?
Welcome it

MM: What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a band, and how did you overcome it?
Navigating the white noise of social media / online in order to stay relevant. We work to
overcome it by continued outreach and being present in the live scene as well as
maintaining digital footprints.

MM: Where do you see the band in five years, and what’s the ultimate goal for your music?
Fully self funded & sufficient. Creating positive memories for ourselves and listeners of the
music.

MM: Last song you listened to?
‘Teleprompt Soland’ by Twopointeight

MM: Tell us why we should check out your band
There’s something in the music for everyone. Personal meanings that will resonate with
others if given a chance to internalise.

MM: Final Words for your fans our readers
Appreciate you allowing us to be part of your day. All the best!
